Present Truth for Today
Let me ask you a direct question. What is God teaching you today? Not last year, not back when you were first saved, but today. What is the present truth He is pressing on your heart right now?
For many of us, that question is met with an uncomfortable silence. We could talk at length about what we learned years ago, but when it comes to what God is working on in us this week, we draw a blank. Peter understood that danger. He told his readers he would not be negligent to remind them of things they already knew. Notice that. They already knew these truths. The problem was not a lack of knowledge but a lack of establishment. They had the light, but they were not yet settled and grounded in it.
It reminds me of a child who calls out, “Mom, where is my toy?” The mother answers, “Where you left it.” The child insists it isn’t there. “Well, have you looked for it?” “No.” “Then go and look.” Sometimes the present truth God has for us is sitting right where we left it, waiting in a Bible we haven’t opened, a prayer we haven’t prayed, a conviction we haven’t acted on. We do not need a brand-new revelation so much as we need to wake up to what He has already shown us.
The Christian life is not meant to coast on yesterday’s lessons. God wants to establish you in present truth, something fresh and active that He is doing in you now. But that requires us to be awake, sensitive to His Spirit, and willing to look. The light is there for those who will seek it.
Ask yourself honestly: what has God been trying to teach me lately that I have not yet acted on? Is there a truth you know in your head but have not let take root in your life? Name it specifically. Then ask the Lord to help you become established in it, not just informed by it.

Trusting God With Tomorrow (Pt. 3)
In this final part of the message, “Trusting God with Tomorrow,” we are brought face to face with a powerful truth from Scripture—while we often plan our days and assume the future, the Bible teaches us that life is fragile, uncertain, and completely in God’s hands. As James reminds us, our life is “even a vapour” that appears for a little time and then vanishes away . The issue is not planning, but planning without God—living as though we are in control of what only God knows.
This message walks through the heart of biblical trust: having a proper perspective of tomorrow, a humble posture before God today, and a surrendered plan that says, “If the Lord will.” Whether facing uncertainty, fear, or the illusion of control, we are called to draw near to God, rest in His care, and trust that His will is good, even when tomorrow is unknown. Because Christ has risen, our future is secure—not in our plans, but in His perfect hands.
