Trusting God With Tomorrow (Pt. 3)

In this final part of the message, “Trusting God with Tomorrow,” we are brought face to face with a powerful truth from Scripture—while we often plan our days and assume the future, the Bible teaches us that life is fragile, uncertain, and completely in God’s hands. As James reminds us, our life is “even a vapour” that appears for a little time and then vanishes away . The issue is not planning, but planning without God—living as though we are in control of what only God knows.

This message walks through the heart of biblical trust: having a proper perspective of tomorrow, a humble posture before God today, and a surrendered plan that says, “If the Lord will.” Whether facing uncertainty, fear, or the illusion of control, we are called to draw near to God, rest in His care, and trust that His will is good, even when tomorrow is unknown. Because Christ has risen, our future is secure—not in our plans, but in His perfect hands.

The Danger of a Drifting Soul

Picture a small boat out on the water. The anchor is not down. The paddles are not moving. The motor is not running. What happens to the boat? Any fisherman will tell you: it begins to drift. It rarely stays perfectly still. Unseen currents gently and silently pull it away from its original spot.

The same is true in our Christian walk. If our spiritual anchor is not securely dropped, we will drift. It is inevitable. The enemy, described in Scripture as a roaring lion and a deceiver, is constantly seeking ways to distract us and draw us away from close fellowship with God. If the only time we open God’s Word is on Sunday, we are going to struggle on Monday. To prevent this drift, we must actively “watch” by doing three things every day: turning from sin, talking to God in prayer, and trusting His Word.

Staying anchored, however, does not mean the waters will always be calm. Deep valleys will come, filled with anxieties, worries, and fears. It is in these seasons of affliction that we must “endure.” Often it is not until we have exhausted our own strength and come face to face with our utter helplessness that we discover God can do it all. His love is an unbreakable anchor. It will never let us go. It sustains us through the deepest and darkest valleys.

And when we are anchored and sustained through life’s storms, our lives naturally become a testimony to others. Just as Jesus told the restored man of Gadara to go home and tell his friends what great things the Lord had done for him, we are called to “do the work of an evangelist.” We have only one life to run for Christ. By watching our daily walk, enduring affliction, evangelizing the lost, and remaining faithful to the very end, we make full proof of the ministry God has entrusted to us.

Preaching and Teaching God's Timeless Truths A Message from Pastor Burns

Dear Listener,

For over eight years, Timeless Truths Radio Ministry has had the privilege of broadcasting the Word of God throughout the Waterloo Region. Every Sunday morning at 8:30 AM, we open the Scriptures together on 93.7 FM, sharing the unchanging truths that continue to transform lives.

Our goal is simple but vital: to preach the Timeless Truths of the Word of God. We believe that the Bible is our final authority—not just in doctrine, but in every part of life. When we open God’s Word, we find hope, direction, and the power to change.

We invite you to join us each week as we seek what God has for us. Whether you’ve been listening for years or are just tuning in for the first time, we pray that His truth will encourage and challenge you.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your Sunday mornings. We look forward to spending time together in God’s Word.
