The Characteristics of a Servant

Scripture

The Christian life calls every believer to be a servant of the Lord, embracing a life of humility, faithfulness, and dedication. There are seven essential principles that guide a true servant of God: Calling, Surrender, Vision, Brokenness, Holiness, Power, and Faithfulness.

Each believer has a unique calling from God, which begins at salvation and leads them into service. To fulfill this calling, one must surrender fully to God’s will, offering their body as a living sacrifice. Through surrender, God gives believers vision and direction for their lives, guiding their steps according to His Word.

Brokenness, often experienced through trials, is key to personal growth and service, as it allows believers to rely fully on God’s strength. This brokenness leads to holiness, or Christlikeness, as believers become more aligned with God’s purposes.

Additionally, God empowers His servants through the Holy Spirit to carry out His mission and be witnesses for Christ.

Finally, faithfulness is required, as it is through consistent service and perseverance that believers demonstrate their commitment to God. These principles shape a servant’s heart and equip them to serve effectively in God’s kingdom.
