Jesus Saw a Man

Scripture

This message begins by highlighting Jesus’s purposeful entry into the world to seek and save the lost. It emphasizes how Jesus perceived an opportunity for God’s work to be revealed in the life of a man born blind, unlike others who only saw a problem. The sermon underscores the urgency of Jesus’s mission to work while it was “day,” recognizing that night, when work ceases, was approaching. The sermon then focuses on the nature of this work, which is fundamentally for God and involves reaching people. It discusses how many today is spiritually blind, unable to discern the danger ahead, and how believers are called to be lights in the world to reveal the glorious gospel of Christ. This work allows those lost in darkness to see a great light and understand the truth of Jesus’s sacrifice for their sins. The message further stresses the limited nature of time, urging listeners to work diligently while it is still “day” and not to hide their light. It encourages believers to see people as Jesus saw them – with needs for salvation and forgiveness – and to be willing to share the truth. The ultimate reward of this work is seeing those reached for Christ join in eternity, transforming spiritual blindness into spiritual sight.
