For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; — Philippians 1:5
The word fellowship here speaks of partnership. The believers in Philippi had partnered with Paul in the work of spreading the Gospel.
From the very beginning of their Christian lives, they had shared in the mission of reaching others for Christ. Though they were not a wealthy church, they faithfully supported Paul’s ministry. Their giving enabled him to preach the Gospel in other cities and establish new churches.
This kind of fellowship goes deeper than friendship. It is a spiritual bond formed through a shared commitment to the Gospel. Believers are united not only by the salvation they have received, but by the mission they share-to see others come to Christ.
The Philippians were faithful stewards of the Gospel message. They understood that the good news of Jesus Christ was too important to keep to themselves.
