Genesis 2:14 | Pastor Burns' Study Notes

And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates. — Genesis 2:14

The third river is Hiddekel, and many believe this refers to the Tigris River. The fourth river is Euphrates.

Some believe the Tigris and Euphrates survived the flood in some recognizable form. Others believe post-flood rivers may have been named after pre-flood rivers. Either way, we do not have enough data to determine the exact location of the Garden of Eden.

What we do know is that God placed man in a prepared, watered, fruitful, and beautiful world.
