Exodus 7:21 | Pastor Burns' Study Notes

And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt. — Exodus 7:21

Now the consequences are fully visible. The fish die, the river smells, and the water cannot be used.

This was a terrible situation. I cannot fully imagine how awful this would have been to live through. The phrase “the Egyptians could not drink” shows just how severe it was.

This was not something that could be ignored. God’s hand was clearly seen.
