O That Men Would Praise the Lord

Scripture

In this sermon, the central theme is the unwavering goodness of God, serving as a powerful call for all people to offer Him praise. It is highlighted that divine goodness is evident in our lives, even when unnoticed, and often becomes clear during trials and troubles. Regardless of life’s challenges, confidence is assured that God is good and His mercy endures forever, always present to help in times of need. This message explores various human predicaments depicted in Psalm 107, illustrating how individuals find themselves lost, imprisoned by sin, foolishly afflicted by their transgressions, or overwhelmed by life’s storms. Each situation underscores the consequences of rebellion against God’s word and the destructive power of sin. However, for every problem, the answer remains consistent: crying out to the Lord, who is quick to deliver, heal, and restore through His powerful word. The discourse emphasizes that while human circumstances may change, God’s mercy does not. It encourages believers to testify to God’s goodness and to remember that every good and perfect gift comes from above. The message urges introspection, recognizing our own sinfulness, and then turning to God for forgiveness and guidance. Ultimately, it calls for wisdom in observing life’s events, understanding God’s loving-kindness, and continually giving praise for His wonderful works.
