Paul now begins to list the works of the flesh. Notice the word “works.” These are the natural products of the fallen nature. When the flesh is allowed to rule, this is what it produces.
The first group deals especially with moral impurity. The flesh always tries to corrupt what God made holy. It takes God-given desires and twists them outside of God’s will. A Spirit-led life will not make peace with impurity. The Holy Spirit will lead the believer to purity in thought, desire, speech, and conduct.
