Exodus 7:18 | Pastor Burns' Study Notes

And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river. — Exodus 7:18

This verse shows the severity of the plague. The fish die, the river stinks, and the water becomes undrinkable.

This would affect everything-health, economy, daily life. I think about the smell of dead fish, and how overwhelming that would be. This was not a small inconvenience-it was devastating.

This also reminds me of future judgment. In Revelation 8 and 16, waters are again turned to blood on a global scale. What God did here in Egypt locally, He will one day do globally.
