Exodus 7:2 | Pastor Burns' Study Notes

Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land. — Exodus 7:2

This verse explains the meaning of verse 1. Moses is to speak everything God commands him, and Aaron is to relay that message to Pharaoh.

The emphasis is on obedience and exact transmission. Moses is not permitted to soften, alter, or improve the message. He must speak what God says.

This also underscores that Pharaoh is not resisting Moses merely as a man. He is resisting the command of God delivered through God’s chosen representatives.
