Where Everything Begins

Before anything existed—before time, before light, before the earth itself—there was God. Genesis 1:1 does not argue for His existence or attempt to prove Him; it simply declares Him. “In the beginning God…” That statement alone settles so much of what we struggle with today. God is not part of creation—He is the Creator. He is not bound by time—He stands outside of it. Everything we see, know, and experience begins with Him.
This verse reminds me that God is not only the beginning of the world, but He must also be the beginning of my life. Too often, we start with ourselves—our plans, our worries, our desires—and then try to fit God into what we are already doing. But Scripture teaches the opposite. Life makes sense only when it begins with God. When He is first, everything else finds its proper place. When He is not, everything feels out of order.
It is also comforting to know that the God who created everything from nothing is still at work today. If He can speak the universe into existence, then He is more than able to handle the details of my life. There is no problem too complex, no burden too heavy, and no situation too far gone for the Creator. The same power that formed the heavens is available to guide, sustain, and strengthen me today.
Where does your day begin—with your thoughts or with God? Have you placed Him at the center of your life, or have you tried to build everything without Him? Take time today to acknowledge Him as your Creator and your foundation, and let Him shape everything that follows.

In this final part of the message, “Trusting God with Tomorrow,” we are brought face to face with a powerful truth from Scripture—while we often plan our days and assume the future, the Bible teaches us that life is fragile, uncertain, and completely in God’s hands. As James reminds us, our life is “even a vapour” that appears for a little time and then vanishes away . The issue is not planning, but planning without God—living as though we are in control of what only God knows.
This message walks through the heart of biblical trust: having a proper perspective of tomorrow, a humble posture before God today, and a surrendered plan that says, “If the Lord will.” Whether facing uncertainty, fear, or the illusion of control, we are called to draw near to God, rest in His care, and trust that His will is good, even when tomorrow is unknown. Because Christ has risen, our future is secure—not in our plans, but in His perfect hands.
