Nothing Too Hard for Him
A while ago April and I sang a song in church called “Look to God.” I remember thinking how simple its message was: when trouble comes, look to God. That song has been coming back to me lately, because the simple truths are often the ones we need most when life gets hard.
Jeremiah had to learn to look to God too. He was shut up in prison, and the Babylonian army was camped outside the walls of Jerusalem. Yet God told him to buy a field. Who buys land in a city that is about to fall? Jeremiah obeyed, and then he prayed, “there is nothing too hard for thee.” But as his prayer went on, you can hear a question in his heart: Lord, how can this be?
God answered by taking Jeremiah’s own words and asking them back to him as a question. He reminded Jeremiah that He is the LORD, the God of all flesh, and that every king, every army and every person is in His hand. The city would fall because of its sin, but God would one day bring His people home, and “fields shall be bought in this land” again. The field Jeremiah paid for was God’s promise that He was not finished with His people.
We can say we believe God is able and still struggle when trouble is right outside our door. Jeremiah did, and he was a prophet. That is why we must look to God every day, not just once. Each morning we need to turn our eyes back to Him and remember who He is. Your situation may be too hard for you, but it is not too hard for Him.
Write down the hardest thing you are facing right now, and beside it write, "Nothing is too hard for the Lord." Each morning this week, before you pick up your phone, read it and look to God in prayer about that need.
"I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving." — Psalm 69:30

What are you Seeking? (Part 2)
In this message, "What are you Seeking? (Part 2)," Pastor Burns explains how many people search for meaning and purpose in all the wrong places. Just as Solomon sought fulfillment in worldly success and great wealth only to find it vanity and vexation of spirit, listeners will learn that true answers cannot be found in dead works, rituals, or philosophies.
Turning to John 20, listeners will hear how Mary Magdalene went to the tomb searching for Jesus and discovered that He had risen. Pastor Burns shares how the reality of Christ’s resurrection provides eternal life, encouraging everyone to choose life, since Jesus is "the way, the truth, and the life."
