Statement from Pastor Burns

Statement from Pastor Burns

Dear Kitchener Baptist Church,

As you know, we have been monitoring the COVID-19 circumstances closely and adapting as needed.

I announced on Sunday that we had enacted several measures to keep everyone safe. I appreciate everyone’s cooperation and support during this unsettling time.

This is a fluid situation, and I was aware and prepared the congregation on Sunday that the time may come that it would be best to withdraw from services for a season. I am announcing that this day has arrived.

After much prayer, seeking godly advice, and considering the health and testimony of our church in our community, we will follow the recommendation of the leaders of our province and not meet together for two weeks. I have also been in contact with the Region of Waterloo Public Health and Emergency Services Department, and they are appreciative of our support. I also extended our helping hand to assist our community in any way that we can.

This isn’t an easy decision, and it pains me to have to make it, but I do believe it’s what we have to do at this time.

We will live-stream services on Sunday morning and Wednesday Evening through this challenging time. We will also be broadcasting the Timeless Truths Radio Program Sunday mornings at 8:30 AM on FaithFM in the Waterloo Region for those that do not have live-streaming capabilities.

Understandably, our church will still have its regular bills through all of this, and we are asking you to please be faithful to your tithes and offerings.

You can send your tithes and offerings through e-Transfer to give@kitchenerbaptist.org, or you can send the church a cheque with your tithes and offerings for the month. With your cheque, please remember to write down for us the designations such as: general, missions, building or other projects.

We know that trials make us stronger and teach us to appreciate everything in our life that we often take for granted: His Church, family, and Christian service, which is all so precious to each of us.

If you have any needs during this time, please call our church office at 519.579.2236, and we will be there to support and assist. Take this time to pray for the world, that this situation would bring glory to the name of Jesus, and take the opportunity to minister and be a witness.

May God bless you all. We love you, and we are praying for you.
