When Tomorrow Feels Uncertain
There are moments when the future feels too big for our hearts. We may not even know exactly what we are afraid of, but we feel the weight of what could happen. Our minds begin to run ahead, imagining conversations, outcomes, losses, changes, disappointments, and burdens that have not even come yet. Fear has a way of making tomorrow feel dark before we ever arrive there.
David did not pretend that fear was not real. He said, “What time I am afraid…” That is honest faith. He did not say, “I never feel afraid.” He did not act as though trusting God meant he would never tremble. Instead, he brought his fear into the presence of God and made a decision: “I will trust in thee.” Faith is not always a feeling of confidence. Sometimes faith is a choice made with a shaking heart.
When we are afraid of the future, we often want God to show us the whole road. We want details. We want dates. We want guarantees. We want to know how everything is going to work out. But the Lord usually does not give us the whole map. He gives us Himself. He gives us grace for today. He gives us strength for the next step. He gives us promises that are stronger than our fears.
Waiting on God does not mean the heart never struggles. It means we keep bringing the struggle back to Him. It means when fear says, “What if everything falls apart?” faith says, “I will trust in thee.” When fear says, “What if I am not strong enough?” faith says, “God will be enough.” When fear says, “What if tomorrow is hard?” faith says, “The Lord will meet me there.”
The future may be uncertain to us, but it is not uncertain to God. He is already in every tomorrow we fear. Nothing will surprise Him. Nothing will exhaust Him. Nothing will make Him unable to care for His child. So while we wait, we do not wait in panic. We wait with our hand in His hand, learning to say one day at a time, “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.”
Today, name the fear honestly before the Lord. Do not hide it. Do not pretend it is not there. Tell Him what tomorrow feels like to you. Then answer that fear with faith: “Lord, I do not know what is ahead, but I trust you. I do not have strength for every tomorrow, but I believe you will give grace for today.”
"It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man." — Psalm 118:8

Trusting God With Tomorrow (Pt. 3)
In this final part of the message, “Trusting God with Tomorrow,” we are brought face to face with a powerful truth from Scripture—while we often plan our days and assume the future, the Bible teaches us that life is fragile, uncertain, and completely in God’s hands. As James reminds us, our life is “even a vapour” that appears for a little time and then vanishes away . The issue is not planning, but planning without God—living as though we are in control of what only God knows.
This message walks through the heart of biblical trust: having a proper perspective of tomorrow, a humble posture before God today, and a surrendered plan that says, “If the Lord will.” Whether facing uncertainty, fear, or the illusion of control, we are called to draw near to God, rest in His care, and trust that His will is good, even when tomorrow is unknown. Because Christ has risen, our future is secure—not in our plans, but in His perfect hands.
