Matthew 6:24 “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
Jesus begins by exposing a heart conflict we often try to ignore. The struggle is not simply between faith and fear, but between who truly rules our hearts. When material security becomes our master, worry becomes our constant companion. Divided loyalty always leads to divided peace.
God does not share His throne. When we attempt to serve both God and our own sense of control, we find ourselves anxious and restless. Jesus lovingly calls us to choose—not because He wants less for us, but because He wants better for us. Peace begins when we settle the question of who is truly Lord.
