2 Timothy 4:8 “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
Paul wasn’t looking at a Roman executioner—he was looking past him, to the face of Jesus. He had lived for eternity, and now he was ready to receive his crown. Not a gold one, but a crown of righteousness from the Righteous Judge. This wasn’t a private reward for apostles—it was a promise to anyone who longs for Christ’s return, who lives in light of that moment.
If you’ve ever felt unnoticed in your service for God—every prayer whispered, every dish washed, every word of witness given—take heart. The Lord sees, and He will reward. There is a crown laid up for those who are faithful, and it won’t come from the applause of men, but from the nail-scarred hands of Jesus Himself. Live today in light of that day. Love His appearing—and you won’t be disappointed when He appears.
