Mark 14:8 “She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.”
Mary didn’t know everything, but she did what she could. She couldn’t stop the cross, she couldn’t silence the critics, but she could pour her love out while there was still time. Jesus saw her heart, her effort, and her sacrifice—and He honored it.
Sometimes we underestimate what we have to give. We compare ourselves to others, or feel limited by time, resources, or abilities. But Jesus doesn’t ask for what you can’t give. He delights in what you can. A kind word. A gift of time. A prayer lifted in the quiet. Mary’s act was simple but significant. So is yours when it’s done in love. When we give what we can, we give more than we realize.
