The Way, the Truth, the Life
Scripture: John 14:1-6
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” — John 14:6
In John 14, Jesus speaks words of deep comfort to His disciples. Their hearts were troubled, but He reminded them to trust Him just as they trusted God. He pointed to a greater reality — His Father’s house, a place prepared not through bricks and mortar, but through His own death and resurrection. Heaven is not simply a future hope; it is a promise secured through the cross.
When Thomas confessed confusion about the way, Jesus gave one of the clearest declarations in Scripture: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” He did not say He would show the way, or merely teach the truth, or offer a better life — He declared Himself to be the only way to God, the absolute truth that sets us free, and the source of eternal life.
We were created to know God, but sin has left us wandering like lost sheep. Jesus is the Way back to a restored relationship with the Father. In a world of confusion and shifting values, He is the unchanging Truth that brings freedom. And in a world marked by death and brokenness, He is the Life — abundant now and eternal forever.
The message of John 14 is clear: no one can come to the Father apart from Jesus. But for all who believe, the promise is certain — forgiveness, fellowship with God, and the hope of Heaven. As Adrian Rogers once said, “A man may go to Heaven without health, without wealth, without fame, without a great name, without learning, without culture, without beauty, without friends. But he can never go to Heaven without Jesus.”
Do you know Him? The Way is open, the Truth is sure, and the Life is yours in Christ.
