Holding Fast Because God is Faithful
Holding Fast Because God is Faithful
Hebrews 10:10–23 beautifully presents the sufficiency and finality of Christ’s work on the cross. The writer contrasts the endless sacrifices of Old Testament priests with the once-for-all offering of Jesus Christ. While the priests stood daily performing rituals that could never remove sin, Christ offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice and then sat down—a powerful picture of completion. Through His blood, believers now have direct access to God, a “new and living way” made possible by His body. The Holy Spirit affirms this covenant by writing God’s law on our hearts and assuring us that our sins are remembered no more.
Because of this finished work, believers are called to draw near to God with confidence and to “hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering.” Our perseverance isn’t rooted in our own strength but in the unchanging faithfulness of God. This passage encourages us to live boldly and steadfastly, resting in Christ’s complete redemption and trusting the One who is faithful to every promise.
