What is saving faith, really? It’s more than knowing about God — it’s trusting Him with your life.
Charles Spurgeon told the story of a young boy caught in a burning building. The fire forced him out to a second-story window ledge, where he hung on for dear life. A strong man on the ground called out to him, “Boy, let go! I’ll catch you!” The boy believed the man was strong. He even believed he could catch him. But that belief alone wasn’t enough to save him — the moment of faith came when he let go and dropped into the man’s arms.
That’s what faith in Jesus looks like. It’s not just believing He’s the Son of God or that He died on the cross. It’s letting go of everything else — our efforts, our goodness, our pride, even our fears — and dropping fully into His grace.
Many people are still clinging to their own efforts or religion, trying to “hang on” until things make sense or feel right. But real faith is surrender — saying, “Jesus, I can’t save myself. I trust You to catch me.”
Have you ever truly let go and trusted Christ completely? And if you have, are you still living in that same spirit of surrender and trust today?
