Ready to See Jesus

2 Timothy 4:6 “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.”

Those are not the words of a man filled with fear. They’re the words of someone at peace, ready to meet his Saviour. Paul uses the imagery of an offering—his life being poured out like a drink sacrifice to God. And he speaks of his death not as an end, but as a “departure,” like a ship leaving the dock. It wasn’t final. It was a transition—leaving this world and arriving in the presence of Christ.

How would you feel if today was your “departure”? Are you clinging tightly to this life, or are you ready to see Jesus? Being ready isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being prepared. It means having a biblical salvation, walking with God daily, and living with eternity in view. Paul wasn’t focused on Nero’s judgment seat—he was looking toward Christ’s. Can you say the same?
