Life often brings unexpected storms—moments of hardship, uncertainty, and struggle that leave us feeling overwhelmed and powerless. In this message, we explore the powerful account of Jesus walking on the sea in Mark 6:45–52 and connect it with the timeless wisdom of Proverbs 3:5–8.

The disciples found themselves battling a fierce storm in the middle of the night, exhausted and making little progress against the contrary wind. Yet from the mountain, Jesus saw their struggle and came to them in their darkest hour. When He stepped into the boat, the storm immediately ceased. This story reminds us that the greatest difference in any storm is the presence of Christ.

Through this passage, we discover a blueprint for facing life’s trials:

  • A Reliance — learning to trust the Lord with all our heart instead of leaning on our limited understanding.
  • A Recognition — acknowledging God in every area of life and inviting Him into our decisions, struggles, and storms.
  • A Rebuke — rejecting self-reliance and pride, choosing instead to fear the Lord and walk in His wisdom.

Storms reveal what we truly trust. They expose our weakness, but they also become the stage where God shows His faithfulness and power. When we place our full weight on God and acknowledge Him in all our ways, He promises to direct our paths and bring peace even in the fiercest storm.

This message will challenge and encourage you to stop rowing in your own strength and allow Christ to step into the boat of your life.
