Every new year brings fresh hopes, plans, and pressures—but nothing will shape our year more than what we choose to put first, and in Matthew 6:24–34 Jesus speaks directly to hearts weighed down by financial strain, uncertainty, and fear, reminding us that worry often comes from divided loyalty between God and material security. His call to “seek first” challenges us to pursue God intentionally and wholeheartedly, because a God-first life does not happen by accident but through daily decisions to pray, obey, and trust Him. When Christ reigns in the heart, His kingdom governs our schedules, values, families, and choices, leading us to live under His authority rather than the pressures of the world. This pursuit naturally leads to practicing God’s righteousness, where we stop chasing wealth, comfort, and control and instead grow in godliness, faith, love, humility, and endurance as Christ reshapes our lives. Jesus then gives a powerful promise—that when God is first, “all these things shall be added unto you,” assuring us that our Heavenly Father faithfully supplies what we need and replaces worry with peace. As we enter 2026 under the theme “Trust in Him,” this message calls every believer to place Christ back on the throne and experience the freedom, security, and blessing of a truly God-first life.
