Lamentations 3:22–23 “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.“
Morning does not arrive because a calendar turns—it arrives because God is faithful. Jeremiah did not write these words from comfort, but from catastrophe. Jerusalem lay in ruins, yet mercy met him at daybreak. When everything else failed, God did not.
As we stand at the edge of a new year, God reminds us that hope is not found in dates, goals, or resolutions. It is found in mercy. Before plans are made and promises spoken, grace has already shown up. If you woke up today, mercy has already spoken on your behalf.
