John 12:7–8 “Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this. For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.”
When Judas raised his voice in criticism, Mary didn’t defend herself—but Jesus did. With divine authority, He silenced the accuser and brought clarity to her sacrifice. She had kept the ointment for this very moment, anointing Him before His burial. Jesus saw what others didn’t. While the disciples were still confused about His mission, Mary had been listening, learning, and believing.
In times when others misunderstand your motives, when critics question your heart, take comfort in this: Jesus sees the whole picture. He knows why you gave, why you served, why you obeyed. And He will speak for you. Mary didn’t need to justify herself because her Savior honored her. You don’t need to chase affirmation from people—trust that the One who matters most understands your worship.
