I Am Now Ready

2 Timothy 4:6 “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.”

There’s something beautiful about readiness—not for a trip or an exam, but for eternity. Paul sat in a Roman prison, his execution near, yet he didn’t write in panic or fear. Instead, he said, “I am now ready.” That kind of peace doesn’t come from a comfortable life—it comes from a confident salvation and a walk with Jesus that makes even death look like a homecoming.

Katie Martin, a long standing member of Kitchener Baptist Church, lived that way. At 101, she still spoke about Jesus, still prayed, still witnessed, and still longed to see the Lord. Like Paul, she was ready—not because she was perfect, but because she was prepared. When we know Jesus, death loses its sting and heaven becomes our hope. Friend, can you say with Paul, “I am now ready”? If not, today’s the day to make sure.
