Lamentations 3:22 “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.“
Jeremiah didn’t deny the destruction—he stood in it. Jerusalem had fallen. Families were broken. Worship was interrupted. It reminds me that God never asks us to pretend everything is fine. He invites us to trust Him even when it’s not.
Many in Canada feel like the ground has shifted beneath them. Jobs have changed, finances are tighter, and some feel the country they grew up in isn’t the same anymore. Maybe you feel that way in your own life. But mercy doesn’t wait for ideal conditions. It meets us right where we are, even in the rubble.
