Ephesians 1:1 “Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus.”
When Paul wrote to the Ephesian believers, he addressed them as “saints” and “faithful in Christ Jesus.” That phrase—in Christ—is more than a theological tag. It is the key to understanding the believer’s identity, security, and destiny. Everything God gives us—every blessing, every spiritual privilege—is only possible because we are in Christ. We were once in Adam, spiritually dead and separated from God. But the moment we placed our faith in Jesus and His finished work on Calvary, we were transferred into a new spiritual family.
Many believers struggle because they don’t understand their position. They try to act holy to become accepted, rather than living holy because they are already accepted. But Paul writes to saints, not seekers—he speaks to those who already belong to Christ. Even when they stumble, they remain His. That’s why in spiritual growth, and in daily living, the foundation must be clear: I am in Christ. I am not what I feel. I am not my past. I am not the failure of yesterday. I am joined to the One who conquered death, and in Him, I stand complete.
