2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
Starting is easy—just ask anyone with a New Year’s resolution. But finishing? That’s where character is forged. Paul wasn’t just reflecting on his past; he was rejoicing in his perseverance. He had stayed the course, even when it got hard, even when others quit, even when his body was worn out. He didn’t fizzle out—he finished strong.
You might feel like your strength is fading. That your influence is shrinking. But God doesn’t need your energy—He asks for your endurance. Finish your marriage well. Finish your ministry well. Finish your life well. Because your grandchildren, your friends, your church—they’re all watching someone who is finishing the right way.
Don’t let fatigue become your excuse. Let it become your offering. Finish for the glory of God, so that those coming behind you will have the courage to run strong too.
