A Matter of First Place

Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Every year brings new plans, fresh calendars, and good intentions. Yet Jesus makes it clear that what truly shapes our lives is not what we plan, but what we prioritize. To “seek first” is not a casual suggestion—it is a call to arrange our lives around God Himself. When Christ is first, everything else finds its proper place. When He is not, even good things become heavy burdens.

Many believers love God sincerely, yet struggle with divided loyalty. We trust Him with eternity but hesitate to trust Him with today’s needs. Jesus reminds us that peace does not come from having more, but from placing Him first. A God-first life is not problem-free, but it is faith-filled—and that makes all the difference.
