A Love That Listened

Luke 10:39 “And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.”

Long before she anointed Him with costly perfume, Mary was at His feet listening. She knew His voice, understood His mission, and sensed the weight of what was coming. Her act of worship in John 12 wasn’t random—it was rooted in relationship. She gave extravagantly because she had listened attentively.

Before you serve, before you sacrifice, sit. Listen. Let His Word guide your worship. The fragrance that filled the house began in a heart that had first been filled with truth. If you want your love to matter, let it be informed by Scripture, shaped by devotion, and offered from a place of understanding. Mary loved Jesus deeply—and it showed because she listened closely.
