Matthew 2:8 “…that I may come and worship him also.“
Herod spoke the language of worship, but his heart was full of wickedness. His words sounded religious, but his motives were murderous. This is a warning to every believer: not all who speak of Christ truly seek Him. Some wear the mask of reverence while hiding rebellion. Herod teaches us that fake worship is possible—even common.
God is not impressed by words that sound spiritual but hearts that remain unchanged. He desires worship “in spirit and in truth,” not outward show or empty promises. Let your devotion be sincere, not superficial. True worship does not hide ulterior motives—it offers the heart openly to the King.
