Humility Opens the Door

Genesis 33:3  “And he passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.”

Jacob approached Esau with humility, bowing himself to the ground. This was not weakness, but strength—the strength to admit his past wrongs and to seek reconciliation rather than retaliation. How often do our conflicts escalate because pride refuses to bend? A bowed heart can heal wounds that harsh words can never fix.

In our homes, marriages, and friendships, humility works the same way. When we put aside our pride and choose to esteem others better than ourselves, grace has a chance to flourish. Pride builds walls; humility builds bridges. God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. If you long for peace in a relationship, it begins by lowering yourself before God and others.
