1 Peter 2:2 “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.”
Spiritual hunger is a mark of life. Just as a baby instinctively longs for milk, so the child of God longs for the Word. That appetite is not optional—it’s the means by which we grow. A Christian who loses their hunger for Scripture is like a body losing its appetite: it’s a sign of sickness.
When we open God’s Word with expectation, He nourishes us, strengthens us, and equips us for the trials ahead. Our hunger for righteousness fuels our growth toward maturity. The more we taste of God’s truth, the more our appetite increases. Growth is slow, steady, and daily—but it is certain when we feed on His Word.
