John 10:17 “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.”
Jesus wasn’t forced to the cross. He wasn’t a victim of circumstance. He willingly chose to lay down His life. This is why the Father delights in the Son—because His love led Him to obedience. His sacrifice was not an accident, but the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan of redemption.
Have you ever considered that love is best proven through sacrifice? Parents sacrifice for children, soldiers sacrifice for freedom, and friends sacrifice for one another. But no sacrifice compares to the cross. Jesus’ willingness to lay down His life demonstrates the depth of His love for you. The Father rejoiced in His obedience, and we rejoice because His obedience brought us life.
