He Comes in the Darkest Hour

Mark 6:48 “And about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.”

The fourth watch of the night was between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m.—the darkest, loneliest part of the night. The disciples had been fighting the storm for hours. No light. No progress. No relief. And then, right then, Jesus came walking on the sea. Not a moment too soon, not a second too late. He came when they had nothing left to give.

That’s often when He shows up in our lives, isn’t it? When our strength is gone. When we’ve cried ourselves empty. When our hands are blistered from rowing. Jesus doesn’t delay to tease us—He waits until we’re ready to see Him clearly. In the darkness, His presence is unmistakable. And when He shows up, everything begins to change.
