Philippians 4:18 | Pastor Jerry A. Burns
But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. — Philippians 4:18
Paul now expresses sincere gratitude. Their gift had truly met a need in his life. He says, “I have all, and abound: I am full.” He had received what they sent through Epaphroditus, and it was a blessing.
But even more than meeting Paul’s need, their sacrifice pleased God. Paul calls it “an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.” Their gift was not just an earthly kindness-it was an act of worship. It brought delight to God.
