Mary’s sorrow is real. She believes someone has taken the body of Jesus. Her entire expectation was built around death, not resurrection.
She loved Jesus deeply, but she had forgotten His promises.
Many believers do the same thing. We sincerely love Christ, yet in difficult seasons we often forget His promises and begin living as though hope is gone.
Notice her words: “My Lord.”
Even in confusion, she still belongs to Him.
The angels ask: “Why weepest thou?”
Luke records another question: “Why seek ye the living among the dead?”
That question reaches far beyond Mary. It speaks directly to our world today.
Why are people searching for fulfillment among dead things?
Why look for life:
- In dead religion?
- In sinful pleasures?
- In worldly identity?
- In empty success?
- In material things?
Life is not found in dead systems.
Life is found in Jesus Christ (Luke 24:5, John 10:10, Deuteronomy 30:19).
