Exodus 3:3 | Pastor Burns' Study Notes

And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. — Exodus 3:3

Moses responds naturally to the unusual sight. He turns aside to see why the bush burns without being consumed. This verse reveals that the miracle was designed to arrest his attention.

There is an important principle here: God often uses extraordinary moments to awaken human attention, but the central issue is not merely curiosity about the sign. The sign serves to bring Moses into an encounter with God Himself.
