You Are What You Eat

Matthew 6:33  “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

There’s an old saying: “You are what you eat.” It reminds us that what we take in shapes who we become. Spiritually, this truth is powerful. Jesus told His disciples not to be consumed with worry over food, clothing, or earthly needs. Instead, He called them to make God’s kingdom and His righteousness their first pursuit. When we hunger for the things of God, He promises to meet every other need.

Our spiritual diet matters. If we fill ourselves with the world’s entertainment, pleasures, or empty pursuits, our appetite for righteousness will fade. But when we fill our hearts with God’s Word, prayer, and fellowship with Him, our desires begin to align with His will. Seek Him first, and you’ll find that the more you taste His goodness, the more you’ll crave it—and the more satisfied your soul will be.
