A Table of Testimonies

John 12:1–2 “Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead. There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.”

In Simon the leper’s house sat a cast of characters who each carried a testimony. Simon was once an outcast, marked by disease, now made whole. Lazarus, once buried in a tomb, now leaned in to enjoy a meal beside the Lord who raised him. Martha bustled with service, expressing her love through action. These weren’t just dinner guests—they were trophies of grace gathered around the very Author of Life.

Imagine the stories shared that night! “I was dying,” Simon could say. “I was dead,” Lazarus might add. And yet, they’re alive, whole, and dining with Jesus. This table tells us something: Jesus changes everything. He takes the dying and gives life, the unclean and makes them whole. This gathering was more than a meal—it was worship. And in your own life, no matter your past, Jesus invites you to His table with your testimony.
