Real-Life Issues: What’s Happening in Our World

When we look around today, it’s easy to wonder: What in the world is happening? Our world seems upside-down. Good is called evil. Wrong is celebrated. Truth is discarded for convenience, and chaos is the result. But as Ecclesiastes reminds us—there’s nothing new under the sun. The sin, selfishness, and confusion we see now are the same patterns that have marked humanity since the fall.

👉 Why is our world in such decline?

Our culture has replaced truth with destructive philosophies:

• Individualism: “I’m my own authority; I decide what’s right for me.”
• Secularism: “God isn’t needed in public or personal life.”
• Relativism: “There’s no absolute right or wrong—only personal preference.”

Without God’s truth as the foundation, society collapses—families break down, violence increases, and sin is celebrated. As Isaiah warned, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil.”

👉 What’s the solution?

The cure begins with rebuilding our lives on God’s unchanging truth. His Word is the standard by which right and wrong are defined—not shifting opinions or cultural trends. We must:

• Stand for truth
• Continue in truth
• Keep God first in our lives and homes

Ultimately, we can’t change the world’s direction—but we can choose to live for God and shine His light in a dark world.
