Exodus 8:1 | Pastor Burns' Study Notes

And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me. — Exodus 8:1

God again commissions Moses, reminding us that His purpose is revelation-He wants to make Himself known. Even at 80 years old, Moses is still being used, alongside Aaron at 83. Both men were obedient, though they arrived there differently-Aaron obeyed immediately, while Moses had to wrestle before submitting. Yet God still used both, demonstrating that His power is not limited by our process, but by our willingness.

The command is repeated: “Let my people go.” This is not merely about freedom from slavery, but freedom for worship. God never delivers just to release-He delivers to redeem and reclaim. They were set free so they could serve Him (Galatians 5:1, Luke 1:74-75, Romans 6:18).
