Making Decisions

Topic: Decisions, Trust

From the mundane choices of what to wear or eat, to life-altering decisions about our future, relationships, and faith, our days are filled with choices. In fact, it’s estimated that the average person makes over 35,000 decisions daily. While many decisions carry little long-term weight, a few will impact the entire direction of our lives. Sadly, poor choices often stem from rushing ahead without seeking God, overanalyzing until we freeze, or simply being led by emotion rather than truth. As followers of Christ, our goal should be more than making quick or convenient decisions—it should be to make wise, Spirit-led choices that reflect our submission to God’s will.

The Bible teaches us that our bodies, our will, and our hearts belong to the Lord. True decision-making begins with surrender. When we choose to trust the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding, He promises to direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5–6). Through Scripture, prayer, discernment, and a renewed mind, we begin to see that good decisions aren’t just about what benefits us—they’re about what brings God the most glory. Whether you’re standing at a crossroads or simply want to develop a life of godly decision-making, let the Word of God light your path. The decisions we make today shape the legacy we leave tomorrow.
