Topic: Communication, Marriage
In Ephesians 4, the Apostle Paul reminds believers that our new life in Christ should change the way we communicate—especially in marriage. We’re called to speak truth, manage anger wisely, and let our words build up rather than tear down. Just like a highway needs guardrails to ensure safe travel, our relationships thrive when guided by honesty, kindness, and grace-filled conversations. Old habits, past family patterns, or the excuse of “that’s just how we’ve always done it” don’t have to define our communication anymore. Through Christ, we are made new—and our marriages can reflect that transformation.
Whether it’s avoiding harsh words, listening with compassion, or practicing forgiveness, intentional and godly communication forms the backbone of a healthy marriage. Our words hold the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21), and God calls us to use them to bring healing, unity, and growth. Don’t settle for staying in the same old ruts. With the gospel’s power at work in us, we can move forward—together—in a new, Christ-honoring direction.
